Abstract

"The universe I was born out of whispered persistence in my ear. This has led me in continued attempts to coalesce community, seek creative outlets, consider my vulnerability in new ways, and face a precarious future as an artist with a family. My sense is that this persistence comes from the structure of the universe itself, as it is not only myself enduring these times, but a multitude of interconnected beings. At our best, we use humility, and through the worst of situations, there is always humour. The body of my thesis uses these universal concepts: persistence, humility and humour as a particular approach that I employ in the work presented."
