Abstract
I returned to Halifax, after a maternity leave of almost one-year. The flight was on Ja{!uary 4, 2003. My baby's father said, "I remember last year your flight was also on January 4.'' "That's right," I said, "school always starts at about the same time." I transferred from my Beijing flight at the Vancouver airport. I stood in the food court thinking that one month before, my baby slept in the carrier in front of my chest, I had Chinese food here. I took her to Beijing. This time I traveled alone and left my little person in China. We had been together for a year, and now we had to separate.
