dc.description.abstractThis project examines new strategies that international educators can use to increase intercultural competence through art education pedagogy by providing a framework for lesson plans. In an effort to support diverse learners (students, staff, and faculty) before they enter a new cultural space, a series of lesson plans are presented using this new framework. These lesson plans are designed to challenge the participants to reflect on their own biases, engage with others, and to grow in intercultural competence and visual literacy skills through the guidance of a trained mentor.
