Abstract
In this lecture Anthony Mann discusses the industrial revolution, and the emergence of a separation between the public and the producer. Mann explains the role of the manufacturer vs. the engineer, and the emergence of design and production no longer being one centralized act. Mann also explains the creation and origin of the Art Nouveau movement. This is part 1 of lecture 9.
