Abstract

"The Myth of Order and the Order of Myth is a hermeneutic study which examines and interprets aspects of myth and assumptions of order which govern our daily lives. As a parent and teacher I am interested in coming to clearer understanding of school life. It is assumed that children are safe in schools until the occurrence of a violent act dispels the myth of order and stability. Such an event prompted an inquiry into the reality of the prevalence of violence in schools today, and new awareness developed: that acts of aggression and violence are more commonplace than we care to admit."
