The Canons, Culture, and Experience of Drawing Instruction: Traditionalism to Pluralism

Abstract

The thesis concludes with the observation that drawing is a broad and valuable visual language capable of many applications from rendering to rumination, with both practical and expressive aspects. Most importantly, the claim is made that drawing has a continuing and primary role to play in all levels of art instruction.
