Take Hold

Abstract

My heart pounded and my voice quivered as I attempted to talk about the first piece I made for the group show. I was interrupted abruptly with the question "Why is it a brooch?" I was completely taken aback, I had never been asked that before. "It is a brooch because I make jewellery", I thought to myself. Looking back now, I really did not know the answer to that question and how much of an impact it would have on me through the next year and a half.
